I have been reading this gigantic history of our church's denomination for the class we are taking in PA next week. I don't like history and thought it would be boring, but its actually not so bad! I love the focus of Wesleyan teaching on Matthew 18. They held this practice of going to your brother with a problem in high regard...our society today is so full of complaining/negativism/self centerdness/slander/gossip...how often do I go straight to the person I have frustration/anger towards? Do I just run away? Do I take it to Jesus to get proper perspective?
As my friend Jon said last night, we need to be the most thick skinned people in this world as Christians...we need to have Jesus' skin....
And Jesus' skin was beaten and bruised for the world.
